Marilyn Feliciano

Marilyn Feliciano is a dedicated and compassionate clinician who holds her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Jersey City University and is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey.  Her clinical journey includes meaningful experience supporting individuals’ recovery from substance use while completing her internship at a community-based recovery center.

Marilyn has over eight years of experience in mental health advocacy and education through her work with the Mental Health Association in New Jersey.  Her advocacy efforts have centered around expanding access to care, increasing mental health literacy, and promoting community-based support systems.

Marilyn is deeply committed to providing care that is culturally responsive and inclusive, with a special focus on serving marginalized and underserved communities.  Her personal and professional experiences have shaped her passion for making mental health support more accessible.

In her work, Marilyn integrates a strengths-based and person-centered approach.  She focuses on honoring each client’s unique life story, helping them recognize their inner resilience, and empowering them to build healthier, more fulfilling lives. She strives to create a safe and nurturing therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported.

Marilyn often describes her role as a therapist much like that of a gardener, offering the right environment, guidance, and encouragement so that clients can grow in their own time and in their own way. Her clinical work emphasized authenticity, self-awareness, and aligning one’s choices with deeply held values.

Outside of the therapy room, Marilyn enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her family, listening to worship music, and traveling to experience the beauty and diversity of the world.  She lives by the words of the Dalai Lama: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
