Vanessa Jean-Louis

LSW

Culturally responsive, trauma-informed support for anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationships, self-worth, and behavioral concerns.

Vanessa Jean-Louis, LSW, is a compassionate and culturally responsive therapist who believes healing begins when people feel seen, heard, and accepted for who they are. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore life's challenges, develop resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

As a proud Haitian American, Vanessa understands the important role that culture, family, and lived experiences play in shaping identity and mental health. She is passionate about serving marginalized and historically underserved communities and recognizes the impact that systemic inequities, discrimination, and trauma can have on individuals and families. She approaches every client with cultural humility, honoring each person's unique story, strengths, and values.

With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Vanessa has supported children, adolescents, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, behavioral concerns, and crisis situations. Her professional experience includes individual counseling, family engagement, crisis intervention, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, client-centered care. She practices from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive perspective, empowering clients to recognize their resilience and build on their existing strengths.

One of Vanessa's greatest passions is love. She believes everyone deserves to love and to be loved, and that healthy relationships with ourselves, our partners, our families, and our communities are essential to healing and emotional well-being. This belief guides her work with clients as they navigate relationship challenges, improve self-worth, and cultivate healthier connections with others.

Vanessa earned her Master of Social Work from Columbia University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Social Work at Simmons University. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and providing evidence-based, compassionate care that meets each client where they are.

Vanessa considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients on their journey toward healing, hope, and personal growth.
